The Real X-Men is a role-playing game that takes place in the Marvel Universe and centers on the X-Men. A player may choose any character that is related to the X-Men to play; hero or villian, mutant or human. The game is done in a round-robin fashion with each player who has a character involved in the plot writing a portion of the story.

The best way to describe it is that this is more of a story than a role play. I'll give you an example. I play Jean and let's say that I and the person who plays Cyclops (he's still open) want to do an Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix story. If we are the only two characters involved with the story then we would take turns writing chapters to it. It would work the same way for bigger stories, only the involved players would use a chat room or the message board to flesh out a plot and a schedule for the chapters.

And seeing as we will be presenting the stories chapter by chapter, we're going for more of a finished product and as a result you don't have to post every day.

The Real X-Men is dedicated to showing the more day to day and human aspects of the X-Men along with a grittier realism to violence in battles with supervillians. As a result, this RPG may contain and discuss material of an explicit adult nature such as extreme violence, language, and possibly graphic adult situations that may be inappropriate for minors.
